About Book of Bangers
Book of Bangers is a quiet reading room for some of the best writing from TPOT — This Part of Twitter — a loose network of accounts that have been thinking out loud together for over a decade. It is an anthology, not a feed. Browse it the way you would a printed collection: leaf through until something catches you, sit with it.
Where the data comes from
Every tweet here is drawn from the Community Archive — an open, public-domain archive of TPOT and adjacent accounts initiated by @exgenesis. The snapshot used for this site was taken in May 2026 and covers tweets from the 340 accounts who had uploaded to the archive. From those, the site carries the top 5,000 tweets by each of the three metrics below.
The three metrics
Likes, retweets and quote tweets each surface a different kind of tweet — roughly: enjoyment, endorsement, and conversation. They are not interchangeable: the likes and retweets lists overlap substantially, but the quote tweet list shares very little with either. More on the three metrics →
Tags
Every tweet carries up to four tags, drawn from a fixed set of 53 themes. The taxonomy was distilled from a hand-labelled seed set of 150 tweets; Claude then tagged the full anthology — reading each tweet with its reply and quote context, and the attached images where text alone wasn't enough — and the most visible tweets under each tag were audited afterwards. Treat tags as a browsing aid, not a verdict.
Caveats
- Counts are a snapshot, not live.
- Quote tweet counts are corpus-internal lower bounds: they only count quote tweets by other archive users.
- Self-quotes are excluded from quote tweet counts.
- Only tweets the 340 accounts wrote themselves are ranked; their retweets and likes of other people's tweets are excluded.
